Description
As announced at the ICAIL Conference workshops on Legal Ontologies (LOAIT) and on Semantic Web for Law (SW4Law), we intend to edit and publish a book on Law, Ontologies and the Semantic Web to be published by IOS Press. We think that the contributions to the workshops, respectively the ICAIL-2007 proceedings may be a good starting point, but you may want to revise and rewrite your contributions for the following reasons:
- The quality should be `international journal’ level, e.g. (minimally) the level required for the AI & Law journal.
- You may have learned ot the conference about related work: we would really like you to make explicit reference to such work, so that we can really attain a collection of the current state of the art work. As LOAIT workshops have been held already for almost 10 years and a number of noteworthey publications on this subject have appeared over the last years (two special issues of the AI and Law Journal; the Springer book (Benjamins et al., Law and the Semantic Web)), it should be possible to come to some coherent views in this area.
- You may have spread your work thin, i.e. reported in the contributions to the workshop or conference only part of a of research trajectory or project. This is the opportunity to provide a more comprehenisive view. Moreover, the restrictions on size of the contributions are more flexible for a book than for conference proceedings.
