Thx, for this script.
Modified it to be usable for the latest version of mydms. Also modifying the bit if the file already exists. Now it leaves the first file from being overwritten. However in such cases you would want the latest version instead of the first

Will keep you posted. Thx for the bit until now. saved me a great amount of work

I like the idea of using a specialised diff and merge for version management of OWL documents. Since some editors have a tendency to serialise the document differently each time.

A problem with the OWL diff of Denny Vrandecic is that it only returns the axioms missing in the other ontology. In the context of version management it only returns your local additions. OWL diff does not return axioms others added to the repository nor axioms your deleted.

A solution/hack might be to run OWL diff twice and combine the results.

[...] A couple of weeks ago I found out that the TortoiseSVN Subversion client GUI for Windows is able to use Microsoft Word for performing diffs and merges on Word documents. While composing today’s post on the OWL Tools of Denny Vrandecic, something went ‘click’: why not use his diff and merge algorithms for resolving conflincts between different versions of an ontology stored using Subversion? The SVN book says the following: Subversion uses its internal diff engine, which produces unified diff format, by default. If you want diff output in a different format, specify an external diff program using --diff-cmd and pass any flags you’d like to it using the --extensions switch. For example, to see local differences in file foo.c in context output format while ignoring whitespace changes, you might run svn diff –diff-cmd /usr/bin/diff –extensions ‘-bc’ foo.c.
[...] The past couple of weeks I have been rather busy writing an article (together with Jochem Liem) about my experiences in using OWL-DL for my PhD research (automatic liability attribution). While doing this I couldn’t help but notice some of the recent developments in the OWL community, and most notably the proposed improvements to OWL: OWL 1.1 provides extra Description Logic expressive power, moving from the SHOIN Description Logic that underlies OWL DL to the SROIQ Description Logic.
